Eating with King Croc at Dubai Aquarium
Watch King Croc showcase his primal instincts as he devours his daily meal for everyone to see at the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.
Everyday at 4 PM, visitors to the famed attraction can marvel in awe (or cringe in fright?) as one of the world's largest reptile chomps down 12 pounds of either chicken, beef, or fish together with his female companion.
The newest addition to the Dubai Aquarium, King Croc measures more than five meters long and weights 750 kilograms. He is 40 years old, and is the biggest of his kind. Over the next 50 years of his lifespan, he is expected to still grow much bigger.
King Croc and his female companion came to Dubai in June from a botanical garden in Queensland, Australia. Their new home in the aquarium has been built big enough to give them sufficient room to move and grow.
The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is also home to the giant Pacific octopus as well as to over 140 different marine creatures from the world's oceans and rivers. The aquarium tank holds 10 million liters of water, and is considered as one of the largest in the world.
Visitors can choose from a wide range of options to spend time with the underwater creatures. They can join educational programs and learn from the penguins, seahorses, piranhas, and fishes; walk under the aquarium through a tunnel; ride a glass bottom boat; and go cage snorkeling or diving into the aquarium.
